Dear Brand New Momma,
Although you don’t know it yet, God has allowed this to happen for a reason. You may not realize it yet but you will be okay. Actually you will be great. God has your life in his hands and has seen the path to your future. Your future is filled with love of a little baby that you will cherish more than anything in this world.
I know this is all hard to hear as you’ve just cried tears. What flashed before you was the life that you had planned out for yourself. Much like many women you thought you were following a perfect path. One that would have you finish school with your masters. Then find a great job, secure your relationship within 3-5 years. Then an engagement with a decent size wedding. Then the baby with the carriage would come.
But let me stop you right there hunnie, because God has the plan. As I’ve stated before. I know you know this and you still decided to plan your life. So here comes the actual plan for you.
A baby. You will find out in 2 months, will be a beautiful baby boy.
That’s it. Wipe your tears because when you step outside of your head you will realize this. This is the perfect time for your bundle to come! You’ve finished school with your masters. You’ve worked at your job that you like for the past 2.5 years. Been with your boyfriend for the last 5 years. You love your boyfriend and know in your heart that he is the man you want to be with.
Why are you crying? You know God. He has carried you through everything in life. He has placed people in your life that love and support you. Before you were even thought of, God chose your mother. To be the strong and nurturing being that she will be to your son. She’s going to help in more ways that you probably want. She actually knew already, God sent her a vision. She’s waiting for you to confirm it, because inside her heart she’s jumping. A grandmother.
Your boyfriend. All the great qualities you’ve seen in him as a boyfriend will transform into a father and lover that you needed. God knows you wish you got married first. This will be your path for a reason. You both needed some growing. This baby will create a love between you that’s fierce and unbreakable.
Stop the tears. I know this all seems like a lot but trust me it will be great. You will take a long time to love the body that will be the home for your son. If I were you, I would embrace it. I know it’s larger than you hoped for, but you look great for a Mom. That first kick hitting the bottom left side of your belly, will be the best kick you’ve ever felt.
Embrace this word, Mother. It will soon define you. You’ve been nurturing to all those around you, why would this be any different. You will figure out how to be a Mother. If anything it will tap into the core of you. You don’t even need to know what you’re doing to do it. You will learn along the way. You will handle this role with care, so you will learn how to be the best Mother to your child.
Grasp this period. This first pregnancy experience is like no other. I know your head is confusing you with all the things you thought you should have done first. Don’t let those things hold you back from making this first experience one that is fulfilling. Hold on to it. Love it. It will be fun. Be proud. There’s no turning back.
I know you won’t listen to me yet. I know you need a moment for it all to settle in. I will give you a moment to be in your feelings. Trust me. You will be able to do this. The baby will be great. Your life will be filled with more joy than you ever could have expected.
Don’t let how this happens define the experience you make of it. You’re a Mom now. Embrace and love it!
