Sometimes we’re exhausted from taking care of a toddler and going through our normal routine of life. We forget to be thankful for what we have. We can easily fall back on feeling tired when we need to reflect on how much good we’re surrounded by. Here’s a list of 5 things to be thankful for this year.
Dear Mom, what are you thankful for this year?
Much like most Moms, I get caught up in getting the kid to school, getting to work, remembering what to put on the shopping list, and even reminding my husband about an important appointment. Most times my go-to is to talk about how tired I am.
Now that I’m pregnant again I fall back on this “tired” line so easily. Truly know that I am tired. Always. In this season of being around family, I manage to tap into my inner optimist. I found a list of things that I am thankful for this year.
It’s easier to look at the glass half empty than it is half full. Words have life so I have to start turning my words around. Here’s to the start of me doing that. Don’t worry I help guide you in making your own list of things to e thankful for.
Top 5 Things To Be Thankful For This Year
1. Thankful for GOD and what he has done for me and my family!
God has carried me through so much this year. From my dream of a destination wedding coming to full fruition. To my decided the right pre-k for my Potato to start school-school in. To a second pregnancy, of another wonderful bundle of joy. So many things, if I list them all we would be here forever.
I am forever grateful for what God has done for my life. He is my provider, protector, and a great help in times of need. God gives me joy, rest, and forgiveness for my wrongs. He has blessed me and continues to keep me through it all.
What has God done for you this year? Big and small?
2. Thankful for the continued growth of Potato and him turning 4!
Potato started pre-k this year and he turned 4. Every day he comes home to tell me what he did in school and what he has learned. I love asking about his day. We’re working on tracing letters and numbers. It’s crazy how quickly how the wheels on their brain start to turn.
He also turned 4 this year and I can’t believe how time has flown by. I have a 4-year old that is still my baby but reminds me of how much he’s a big boy. He’s learning to do some things on his own but still needs Mommy’s help. I’m thankful that he’s growing before my eyes and turning out to be such a beautiful blessing.
What milestone has your little one reached this year?
3. Thankful for this wonderful healthy new human in my tummy kicks me every day to let me know what’s good!
God has blessed us with another pregnancy. Baby number 2 is on its way and let me tell you how much I feel it. This second pregnancy has been no joke but I’ll tell you about it in another post. I am forever grateful that this little one reminds me every day that they are there.
With every kick, I know that I’m thankful to have another baby. Our family is growing and God is making preparations for us. My Mother once told me “It’s a gift from God to be a Mother” and that line will always be true.

4. Thankful for my loving husband, who is my forever partner. God knew what he was doing with us lol
Through everything I’ve been through this year of course my loving husband was right by my side. My forever partner managed to not go crazy when I was going crazy planning and preparing for our destination wedding. When it was all said and done, the wedding was beautiful and our honeymoon was even better. The way we reconnected was quite transformative.
We’ve had a lot of life changes this year and it has brought us closer. Talking about our future and watching the shift in the current stage of our life helps us to grow in life together. God does make a special partner for everyone. I’ve definitely found mine and I am very thankful for him.
Why are you thankful for your forever partner?
5. The beautiful people that God has surrounded me with. My inner circle is a blessing that overflows 100 times over!
I am surrounded by love for as long as I could recognize it. From my family, bridesmaids/sisters, friends, newly adopted by marriage family, and then some. The people you surround yourself with make all the difference in how you move through life.
I’m not talking about the sometimes people. I’m talking about the ones that are with you through thick, thin, and a wedding. God has placed special people in my life. This year I’ve seen them travel to an island with me (face mask and all). They’ve drunk with me, cried with me, and of course laughed with me. They’ve loved me and my family as their own.
I am very thankful to have love ones that are real ones. This is something I need to say to them more but I love them for who they are. I love them for the impact that they have made on my life and even my family’s life.
