The New Mom Behind it All
My name is Kiki. I’m a new mom, a new wife, a daughter, a friend, and in the transition to becoming who I was always meant to be. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY (the best place in the world). I previously resided in Long Island and recently moved back to BK with my son, “Potato” and now husband “Pop”. I love my family and spending lots of time with them. I also love reading books, watching movies, tv shows, Netflix, and most of all laughing.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs. I’ve worked in Higher Education for the past 8 years, developing college students. I enjoyed leading students into being the best versions of themselves. My college students used to be my kids until my son came along.
How FKWL Started
When I found out I was pregnant my whole world changed. A beautiful door was opened, I walked through and came into a whole new life. This life although beautiful comes with new experiences that are sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always a learning moment. My son not only helped me grow as a person but in other relationships in my life; including with my husband, mom, and friends. I’ve always aspired to live an authentic unapologetic life but after my son was born, I felt a need to live a life-like this even more. I now had a purpose as a mom to do more for not only myself but for him.
I’ve always loved to write, from journals to Twitter, and now this blog! As I was home with my son, only giving birth to him two months prior, I was flooded with thoughts of my experiences of motherhood so far, life, and love. After going through tons of mommy blogs, although they were nice I couldn’t find a blog that gave me real and honest advice. They were all really sweet and sugary.
Are you a new mom thinking what the heck where’s the real stuff? Yea I was too! I realize I wanted to share my experiences with new moms, old moms, family, and friends. But in a real and authentic Kiki way. I felt I could connect with a lot of moms that also just want direct, honest advice on what really happens when this time of your life hits. I’m going to be the mom-friend you never had. Be ready for my grimy truth!
The FKWL Goal
From Kiki, With Love, is a real and authentic expression of pregnancy, motherhood, faith, and love. This isn’t the land of sugar-coated reality. It’s a land of honest experiences that I know will make you laugh, learn, cry, feel good inside, and still come back for more.
My goal is to encourage you to be authentic and feel good about your motherhood while you’re doing it. As I continue on this journey, I hope you join me on this ride!
